The LANL folks are working on getting the isosurface code up to VTK-m standards to have it ready for the hackathon (September 1-2). They are also looking into benchmarking it for the CG&A paper.
Although it is still a work in progress, there is a merge request for the OpenMP backend.
Kitware has a fix for the inclusive scan bug found in thrust 7.5. There is a patch in the VTK-m code and the fix has been fed back to the thrust developers. It will be fixed in thrust 8.0.
Brent Lessley's external faces code is in the process of making its way into VTK-m. Rob has some previous metrics of this code. He will send this data to Ken for the CG&A paper.
Dave is putting together XGC data and is close to running. The goal is to have some images for the CG&A paper.
Several folks have been having thoughts about adding rendering capabilities to VTK-m. Jeremy volunteered to write a design document based on EAVL's rendering library. However, this is a lower priority so probably won't happen until after the hackathon.
As part of his work, Hendrik created a simple data importer. He will push a topic branch and send an email out.
